To ensure that the activities on this holiday week are enjoyable and safe for everyone, we all need to agree to work together. By Link Up Holidays and our Guests (with their parents / guardians) agreeing a clear framework of safety and responsibility we can be as relaxed a possible in our approach to the holiday week, so that all can have a really enjoyable time together.
As Link Up Holidays we will take the following steps run this Activity Holiday to the highest standard that we can:
Our Staff team is very important to us!
The members of our Volunteer Staff Team have all agreed to the high standards we want to set as an organisation and are committed to the ethos of the week, each agreeing with our statement of Faith. All have signed the Staff Guidelines as part of our Child Protection Policy. Personal References are taken up for all Team Members.
Safety is important to us!
Our leaders undertake a written Risk Assessment prior to all activities. This exercise is to identify potential hazards and plan the activity so as to minimise the risks. Each activity has suitably qualified leaders in a ratio appropriate to the group size. A number of leaders are trained and certified First Aiders.
As a Guest on the Holiday we expect you to play your part in making the week enjoyable and fun for all by committing to the following:
Participation is important to us!
The time together on the holiday is an opportunity to build up friendships and work together as a team, and perhaps to have a go at activities outside our normal scope.
We expect therefore guests to be involved in all aspects of the holiday’s activities.
Co-operation is important to us!
During the week Houseparents have overall responsibility for us.
We will all help to make their job easier by following their instructions, along with reasonable requests from other staff members.
During specific activities, where safety is of paramount concern it is expected that any instructions from leaders are followed precisely.
Wellbeing is important to us!
Consumption of alcohol and smoking are not allowed in the Centre we use, or on any of the Activities of the Holiday.
Respect for each other is important to us
Noise: There will be a ‘Quiet on Site’ policy between the time of ‘Lights Out’ and ‘Rise ‘n’ Shine’. Everyone must be in their own room during this time.
Property: We expect everyone to treat each others property with respect and not to touch it without permission. The centre should similarly be treated well, so that it can continue to be enjoyed by others.
Accommodation: You are not permitted to enter the room of any other guest, unless invited, at which point you may do so if they accompany you. Under NO circumstances are you to enter the room of a member of the opposite sex.
In event of serious breaches of acceptable conduct, Link Up holidays reserves the right, as a last resort, to exclude and remove guests from the holiday at the discretion of the house parents. It will be parents/guardians responsibility to meet/collect those thus excluded
No refund will be made in this circumstance.
